The Best Book Review in the World

For such a famous literary critic, I wonder how Christopher Hitchens will take this review of his latest book Thomas Paine’s ‘Rights of Man’: A Biography , in the latest London Review of Books. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything more scathing, or wittier. I actually saw Hitchens speak on this when I was at the ippr. He seemed a bit arrogant and proud of his subject – I would love, just loved to have seen his face when he read this. A hundred years ago this would be grounds for a duel. Watch out for the reply.

He’s mostly drunk when he’s speaking, always smoking a ciger, and can’t string a sentence together. He gives Brits aboard a bad name.
